So our journey with "Tea Time" started in Edinburgh, Scotland...we just felt that if we were going to visit the UK that having a traditional Afternoon Tea was a must-do. We absolutely loved the experience and the rare opportunity to be fancy! So...when we went to Boston, we decided that we had to have our own little "Boston Tea Party"...and no, we didn't dump tea into the harbor, but we did dump it into our bellies! I did a lot of digging and found an awesome place to do tea time on our Boston trip, The Boston Public Library!!! We got to do Afternoon Tea in another, beautiful, historic, romantic, elegant library...oh my goodness it was Heaven. The tea is actually done in either of two separate rooms, the Courtyard Tea Room, or the Map Room. We couldn't decide which one we wanted, so we reserved a table at both and just went with the flow. We arrived about 40 minutes early and had drinks (that were literary inspired and tea infused. The names were things like "tequila mockingbird" and "catcher in the rye"!) in the Map Room. This room has a historic underground vibe and there are old books and maps everywhere. When it was time for our tea, we were led into the Courtyard Room and it was elegant to the max. Tall ceilings, white everywhere, menus inside old books, and a live violinist to entertain. We got lucky and were even able to sit next to the window and have a view of the stunning courtyard in the center of the library.
