So...I don't know about you, but Sleepy Hollow was one of the first scary movies I watched as a child. It is what got me excited about Halloween, dark literature, and Johnny Depp (sorry Jeremy lol). We took a road trip to a bunch of the New England states, and we made Sleepy Hollow one of our stops. It is nestled in a tiny village in New York, just a hop, skip and a jump away from New York City! The scenery is breathtaking in the fall; lots of foliage and brightly colored leaves. We visited the Old Dutch Church and Cemetery (all mentioned in Washington Irving's book: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow), the Headless Horseman Bridge site, and enjoyed a glance at the amazing metal horseman statue in the center of town. Sleepy Hollow is part of Tarrytown, New York and that is where Jeremy and I stayed in our hotel. We wanted to save some money so we stayed at a Whyndam Comfort Inn...it was about $90 and was very clean and included a continental breakfast. They offer hay rides, halloween tours, festivals,...If you have any interest in Halloween, the Sleepy Hollow book or movie, or quaint villages...please visit this beautiful place.
